Vehicle Description
Offered here is a 1969 Lincoln Continental four door sedan.
This vehicle is a mostly-original survivor with less than seventy-five thousand miles. 1969 was the last year of the “slab-sided” Lincolns and the first year that the 460 engine was used in a passenger car. This was also the last year of the rear-opening rear doors.
This vehicle was purchased new on December 10, 1968 at Central Florida Motors of Orlando by my great uncle. This technically makes this a two-owner car as it was titled to my great-aunt at her husband's death and then to me. I have owned the car since July 1998 and I have the clear North Carolina title.
This Lincoln is an excellent candidate for a full restoration or give it a good going-over and using it as a daily driver.
The exterior, interior, and drive train are, for the most part, in original, un-restored condition. One exception is the vinyl top. This was replaced in the Spring of 2006 using new/old stock OEM material form a trim/upholstery shop that was clearing out old inventory. (In fact the top was purchased through eBay.)
One other item is the carburetor. There is currently a Holley carb. installed. The original carburetor is included with the car and can likely be rebuilt.
Also, the brake pedal pad is non-original because of handicapped hand controls that were installed when the car was brand new. I removed these controls when I got the car.
Other repair and updates have been performed over the past forty years to maintain the car and keep it in useable condition.
The interior is in nice condition with normal "service wear" to the leather seats, but no rips or tears, and a few cracks in the dash. Also there is one small tear in the headliner near the passenger front door.
The exterior is in very presentable shape with very minimal surface rust and very little body damage. One issue is damage to the lower apron of the right front fender. As far as is known there has been no body or paint work to the car, although this may or may not be entirely accurate.
