Nissan has whittled down the Armada to just three trims for 2024, but it’s still a commendable people mover, nevertheless. Its interior is spacious and comfortable enough to give the Armada an edge for its class, while it provides a good number of advanced safety features on the tech front. The driver displays and the infotainment system are beginning to lag behind the competition but are otherwise usable interfaces. Powering this full-size SUV is the lone option of a 5.6L V8 engine making 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. That unit helps the 2024 Nissan Armada achieve a towing capacity of 8,500 pounds and a fuel economy rating of 16 mpg combined.

The larger of Chevrolet’s full-sized SUV offerings is the 2024 Chevrolet Suburban. While it provides more cargo room behind the third row, the Suburban is otherwise mechanically the same as the Tahoe. Its interior is massive from a passenger and cargo perspective, but it lacks in the quality and comfort departments. Infotainment systems scale from an 8-inch touchscreen up to a 12.3-inch unit reserved for top trim levels. Safety tech also isn’t at the forefront of the Suburban’s offerings, but it does provide some standard items like a lane-departure warning. Under the hood of the Suburban is one of three engines – the 5.3L V8, a 6.2L V8, or a 3.0L turbodiesel. Each has their own benefits between towing capacity, fuel efficiency, and outright power.

The 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe offers less cargo space than the Suburban, but that smaller size makes driving in tight spaces more manageable and provides a marginal discount. It provides the same three engine options under the hood as the Suburban and near identical performance specs. It does do slightly better on fuel efficiency and towing capacity due to its lighter weight. Aside from cargo capacity behind the third row, it’s relatively the same inside the Tahoe as the Suburban. A good amount of passenger space and a little lacking in quality and comfort. There are even the same various touchscreen infotainment systems available.

GMC takes the Tahoe and adds their own flair to produce the 2024 GMC Yukon. This premium full-size SUV also carries the same three engine options found for the Tahoe and Suburban. It’s on par with its Chevrolet cousins in terms of performance but tacks on some more luxurious appointments. The interior is laid out in a similar fashion to the Chevrolet products while adding items like wood inlays and polished metal trimming. The Denali and Denali Ultimate trims also heighten the upholstery quality and ride comfort of the Yukon. The only infotainment system is a 10.2-inch unit across the lineup and safety features are mostly hidden behind option packages aside from a few standard items. It gets pretty spendy for being the same full-size Chevy product with slight differences, but those changes do make a more compelling purchase. There’s even the Yukon XL if you need Suburban space in a premium package.

Toyota provides an interesting entrant into the full-sized SUV category with their 2024 Toyota Sequoia. Rather than continue to offer a simple gas guzzling V8 like the majority of its competition, the Sequoia features a hybrid powertrain called i-Force Max. It utilizes a twin-turbocharged 3.4L V6 engine paired with an electric motor to produce 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. Not only does this allow the Sequoia to tow up to 9,520 pounds but it still gets one of the best fuel economy ratings in its class at 22 mpg combined. The inside of the 2024 Toyota Sequoia might not provide as much cargo space due to the added hybrid components, but the passenger space is comfortable and features quality materials throughout. Tech is bolstered by a 12-inch digital gauge cluster and infotainment screens that range from 8 up to 14 inches. Toyota also adds in the Safety Sense suite of advanced safety features and 2 years of complimentary maintenance.

Ford comes in with one of the top options in the full-size SUV group, the 2024 Ford Expedition. It’s powered by two different versions of the same twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6. Base power comes in at 380 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, but a high-output variant bumps things up to 440 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy isn’t going to wow anyone with 19 mpg combined at best, but it’s also capable of towing up to 9,300 pounds. Inside is three rows of seating that ranges from a comfortable daily up to a luxobarge featuring a panoramic moonroof and massaging seats. Cargo is on par for the class, but there is also the Expedition MAX that expands this SUV to gain 16 more cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row. On the tech front, Ford provides a 12-inch infotainment unit as standard, but a 15.5-inch unit is available on top trim levels. There’s also the Co-Pilot360 safety suite included as standard equipment that makes driving a breeze.

The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer takes the class by storm even after losing its HEMI V8 from last year. Powering all versions of the Wagoneer is a twin-turbocharged inline-six that puts out 420 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque. That power is sent to all four wheels Jeep exceptional 4WD system allowing the Wagoneer to achieve a max towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. The ride of this full-sized SUV is aided by its air-spring suspension and various drive modes for all kinds of terrain. Fuel economy is a bit low at 17 mpg combined, but that’s pretty much par for the class.

It’s the cabin space of the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer that helps it gain a top spot with its high-quality materials, modern design aesthetics, and clever storage solutions throughout. Passengers will enjoy supportive seating throughout with ample space. The Wagoneer also features tons of luxury amenities like a panoramic sunroof, heated rear seats, and built in rear sunshades. The tech inside the Wagoneer starts at a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen running Uconnect 5 software, but a second front-passenger screen is available as well. While not all are available on the base trim, Jeep does provide a decent amount of standard safety aids in addition to their optional add-ons.

Jeep also offers an even larger version of the Wagoneer in the Wagoneer L that gains 14.7 more cubic feet of rear cargo space. Plus, there’s the Jeep Grand Wagoneer that somehow manages to take this platform and make it even better and more luxurious – just for an exorbitant price.
