Honda hasn’t done much to the Odyssey for 2022, but it does sadly lose its built-in vacuum for the time being. It’s still powered by a single powertrain featuring a 3.5L V6 making 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, a ten-speed automatic transmission, and comes exclusively in front-wheel drive (FWD). The Honda Sensing Suite of advanced safety features and driver assistance tech is standard fare on every trim level. The 2022 Honda Odyssey has a nicely laid out interior that can sit up to eight and provides a great max cargo space of 144.9 cu-ft. Entertainment tech is lagging a little behind the competition with an eight-inch infotainment screen being the only option and a single flip down rear-entertainment system is available. Although, CabinWatch provides a nice view of rear passengers and works in perfect tandem with the CabinTalk PA system.

Toyota took their already well received Sienna and added an outdoorsy trim for 2022. The Woodland Edition lifts the suspension slightly, is AWD exclusively, and gains some exterior additions specific to this trim. Under the hood of all 2022 Toyota Sienna models is the same hybridized 2.5L four-cylinder setup from last year. It’s available in FWD or AWD (depending on trim) and produces the second-best numbers when it comes to fuel efficiency. Inside is a nicely laid out interior, albeit one of the most limiting cargo spaces in the segment at a max of 101 cu-ft. Notable amenities include available second-row reclining captain’s chairs, available 11.6-inch flip down rear entertainment system, and a four-zone automatic climate control. On the tech front, every Sienna gains a nine-inch infotainment system, there’s an available 360-degree Birds Eye View Camera, Driver Easy Speak, a host of standard advanced safety features from the Toyota Safety Suite. Toyota also sweetens the deal by offering complimentary maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles.

82 MPGe Combined
As essentially the only remaining model from Chrysler, the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica comes in as a somewhat luxury minivan option that offers some great fuel economy numbers in its hybrid form. Shoppers have the choice of a powerful 3.6L V6 under the hood or a hybrid variant that boosts fuel economy numbers to 82 MPGe. Paired to either engine configuration is a nine-speed automatic transmission and the choice of either FWD or all-wheel drive (AWD). Inside, Stow ‘n Go makes for a nice interior gimmick that allows for storage cubbies or hidden seating. The built in Stow ‘n Vac is also a nice feature for clean ups on the go. Luxury amenities like Nappa leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, lumbar throw pillows, and active noise cancelling create a pleasant atmosphere in the Pacifica. On the tech front, a ten-inch infotainment screen is found up front while rear dual ten-inch entertainment systems are available for rear seat passengers. Chrysler also rounds out the Pacifica nicely with a host of standard advanced safety features.

Kia has done a great job with the all-new 2022 Kia Carnival. While technically touted as a multi-purpose vehicle or MPV, that’s just a fancier way of saying minivan in our opinion. While the outgoing Sedona was a low-end minivan option, the Carnival has come in and made itself one of the best values and one of the best lookers in the segment. While there isn’t a hybrid option, it does feature the most powerful engine currently found in a minivan, a 290-horsepower 3.5L V6, mated to an eight-speed automatic sending power to the front wheels exclusively. Inside is a comfortable, well laid out interior that features available second-row captain’s chairs with heating, cooling, and they can recline. Cargo space can expand to a segment leading 145.1 cu-ft. The infotainment system starts with an eight-inch unit, but a larger 12.3-inch display is available. Rear passengers can experience dual rear entertainment screens, a 360-degree cabin view is available, and Kia rounds it out with a long list of standard advanced safety tech. Plus, the Carnival comes with one of the longest warranties in the business.
