We ranked the best minivans of 2024 based off of their powertrains, interiors, technology, and options. Which minivan wins?
While the minivan segment is relatively small, it’s a hotly contested market between those that still offer these family haulers. Minivans provide shoppers with a vehicle tailormade for growing families and have only improved in their practicality towards that niche over the years. Not only do these vehicles provide three rows of seating and flexible cargo space but they also have become comfortable entertainment spaces for passengers. Today’s minivans carry all of the latest safety tech, great infotainment systems, media systems to play your favorite shows, Wi-Fi hotspots, plenty of USB ports for charging devices, some nicely laid out interiors, and a couple even have built-in vacuums. They’re the best vehicles out there for shuttling a horde of kids around, but some options are better than others. Here are our picks for the best minivans of 2024.

Chrysler didn’t make very many changes to the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica in comparison to last year’s model. Aside from the Hybrid Touring L trim being renamed Hybrid Select and a few new color options, this is the same Pacifica minivan we’ve known for a couple years now. While the Stow and Go seating technology makes for a nifty hideaway feature and the plug-in hybrid makes a segment best 82 MPGe combined rating, you can’t have both options due to the battery taking up undercarriage room. The Pacifica is still a nice minivan option, especially its luxury appointed top trim levels, but you can find better value in one of the other minivans available.

The 2024 Honda Odyssey comes in as the middling minivan option. While it’s a carryover with no significant changes from last year, the Odyssey is an all-around good choice that comes with a history of reliable engineering backing it. It offers competitive fuel economy, it has a good amount of available cargo and passenger space, plus the “Magic Seats” make rear seating maneuverable as well as helps with ease of exit from the third row. Honda also packs the Odyssey with a ton of great tech which includes a bevy of advanced safety features form the Honda Sensing suite, an in-cabin camera view coupled with CabinTalk that helps parents keep unruly riders in check, and there is the rear-seat entertainment system that provides a 10.2-inch screen for your viewing pleasure. The infotainment system is a little behind in terms of screen size at just 8 inches, but it’s otherwise functional and easy to use.

Toyota has kept the Sienna competitive as it continues to be one of the best minivan options for 2024. The Sienna is available exclusively with a hybrid powertrain that’s able to achieve 36 mpg in the city or on the highway when paired with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available for the XSE and Woodland trims for those that want to get a little more adventurous with their minivan for a very minor dip in fuel efficiency. The inside is wonderfully laid out and provides a spacious, comfortable riding experience for passengers. In terms of available tech, Toyota provides a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, JBL sound system, a ceiling mounted rear-seat entertainment system, and a wonderful list of advanced safety features.

Kia knows how to pack a vehicle with a bunch of great standard features and their minivan entrant doesn’t falter. The 2024 Kia Carnival has very much been a leader in the minivan segment since entering the market (even if Kia doesn’t want to call it one). Kia doesn’t offer a hybrid powertrain or AWD, but its 3.5L V6 keeps itself competitive while it shoves more value into the Carnival in other aspects. The SUV looking “Multi-Purpose Vehicle” packs a long list of standard advanced safety tech and even features semi-autonomous driving tech on higher trims.
