It’s an electrification party for all new cars of 2024, a list that includes supercars like the Corvette E-Ray and the exciting new Toyota Land Cruiser.

The Electrification Hits the Streets in 2024

Looking over this rundown of all new cars of 2024, it’s hard to miss a theme: electrification. From mild hybridization to 100% battery-powered electric vehicles (EVs), the impacts of electrification are increasing steadily across the automotive landscape.

But that’s no bad thing as it moves supercars like the C8 Corvette toward hypercar territory in E-Ray form and enables tremendous increases in utility with pickup trucks like the incoming Ram 1500 Ramcharger . So, let’s have a look at all the new cars of 2024.

Hyundai Santa Fe

Kicking off the 5th generation, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe moves this mid-size SUV from mild to wild. Gone are the conservative crossover looks, replaced by dramatic boxy lines with a dose of pixelated futurism thrown in. A new off-road geared XRT model joins the Santa Fe lineup for 2024 with 30-inch all-terrain tires and extra ground clearance. It fits the new, more rugged design language.

Other notable updates include three rows of seating, putting the Santa Fe in closer competition with its Palisade stablemate, and the previously optional 2.5L turbocharged four-pot becoming standard. A 232-horse hybrid powertrain will be optional as well, but all new Santa Fes will have dual 12.3-inch displays, one for the gauge cluster and one for infotainment.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Sedans are hard to find these days, but the Mercedes-Benz E-Class remains one of the best options for those with a healthy budget. Redesigned from the ground up for 2024, the 6th-generation E-Class adds mild hybridization to both powertrains – a turbocharged inline-4 now with 255 hp or a turbocharged inline-6 with 375 hp – to go with available four-wheel steering, air suspension, and adaptive dampers.

Evolutionary styling brings the new E-Class in line with its stablemates from a looks perspective and a slight stretch adds rear legroom and cargo space. Headlining the tech updates is the optional Superscreen. With it, a display gets tacked onto the passenger-side dash for 3 front-row digital interfaces that should be distracting for all parties.

Acura ZDX

Reviving a name previously applied to an odd-looking lozenge-shaped tall wagon from 2010, the 2024 Acura ZDX is now an all-electric crossover with traditional proportions. Like the Mazda CX-70, the new ZDX is a premium but not quite full-on luxury SUV with two rows of seating.

Sharing an Ultium battery platform with the Cadillac Lyriq, Acura’s first foray into EVs starts around $65,000 and offers up to 340 miles of range in base form. There is also a hot-rod Type S variant with 500 hp, adaptive dampers, and 22-inch wheels trade range for high performance.

Chevrolet Traverse

Chevy’s Traverse follows the Hyundai Santa Fe in dropping its bland crossover styling in favor of a more rugged look. It works on the Traverse, particularly with the new Z71 adventure-ready variant that offers a unique dual-clutch AWD system and all-terrain tires.

It’s still a 3-row SUV with room for 8 passengers, 97 cubic feet of cargo space, and a reasonable starting price under $40,000. But now the Traverse has a standard 17.7-inch infotainment interface, a digital gauge cluster, and a 315-horse turbocharged inline-4 powertrain. GM’s lauded Super Cruise hands-free driving tech also joins the 2024 Traverse’s list of available features.

Toyota Land Cruiser

Off-roaders are rejoicing with the return of the Toyota Land Cruiser and unlike the last model that wrapped up in 2021, this all-new Land Cruiser shrinks into Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler territory. That means it’s nimbler off-road and quite a bit less expensive than its bloated $87,000 forebear. The 2024 Land Cruiser starts at around $55,000 and sports retro boxy styling to go with a 1958 trim line in homage to the first year the Land Cruiser was on sale in the US.

Standard 4WD with low-range gearing and a turbocharged four-pot with 465 lb-ft of trail-twisting torque means the new Land Cruiser is ready to get loose off-road. But it also offers climatized front seats and leather upholstery for when you want a side of luxury with your trail rig.

Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray

If you thought Corvette traditionalists were upset when Chevy turned their much-loved Corvette into a mid-engine Ferrari look-a-like, just imagine the uproar over an AWD hybrid Corvette. Called the E-Ray, this latest Corvette C8 variant is just that, but unlike a Toyota Prius, this hybrid is all about performance.

By adding a small battery-powered electric motor to the front end of the Corvette, this E-Ray model punches output up from 495 horsepower to 655, which approaches Z06 power. The Corvette E-Ray also inherits the wide body style and 345 section-width rear rubber from its Z06 cousin. Between that and the traction of AWD, this latest C8 is a true rocket that can do the 60-mph sprint in just 2.5 seconds. Maybe traditionalists will be okay after all.

Kia EV9

Kia builds on the success of its Telluride 3-row SUV by offering the all-new EV9. Fully electric, the Kia EV9 is close in size to the Telluride and can match that big crossover with 5,000 pounds of towing capacity. The EV9’s futuristic looks and available 304 miles of driving range make it an impressive electric SUV with few competitors.

The EV9’s $56,000 starting price is well below options like a Tesla Model X and Rivian R1S. Buyers will find standard features like dual 12.3-inch dash displays and options like climatized and massaging seats for the first two rows of seating. Also impressive is the 800-volt architecture and DC fast-charging capability, which allows the EV9 to add 100 miles of range in just 13 minutes.

Tesla Cybertruck

If something seems off about including Tesla’s Cybertruck in a list of all new cars of 2024, that’s because it was announced 5 years ago. But Tesla doesn’t follow industry norms, so here we are. Sporting wacky styling with stainless steel body panels, the Cybertruck is now competing in a growing pool of electric pickup trucks like Ford’s F-150 Lightning and the Ram 1500 REV.

The Cybertruck offers a dual-motor model with 340 miles of range for $80,000 and a tri-motor “Cyberbeast” range-topper with 845 horsepower and a six-figure price tag. A single motor trim line is slated for 2025 with 250 miles of range and all Cybertrucks will come with a huge 18.5-inch central touchscreen, Supercharger network access, and room for 6 passengers
