Since the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer got a little bit of a refresh with some new tech features and a redesigned front end, we weren’t expecting the 2025 Trailblazer to include a bunch of new updates. However, there are a couple of extra additions this year. Mariana Blue Metallic is a newly available color for the 2025 Trailblazers. Also, the Trailblazer is now E-85 compatible, thanks to some engine calibration.

The 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer doesn’t have a hybrid powertrain, but it does have two different powertrains. First, there’s a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that mates to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) to make 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. With that setup, the Trailblazer can be somewhat sluggish but it’s fine for normal city driving. If your daily commute involves trying to get up to speed quickly on highways and interstates, then you probably want to go for the Trailblazer with the more powerful 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine that’s paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission. This ends up delivering 155 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque.
The 2025 Trailblazer comes standard as a front-wheel drive (FWD) vehicle, but all-wheel drive (AWD) is available. The FWD models don’t have a full fuel efficiency estimate from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) yet, but the AWD models do. The AWD LS and LT models get 30 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Meanwhile, the ACTIV and RS models get 29 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway.
Like the 2024 model, the 2025 Chevy Trailblazer is quite comfortable. That’s something we found out when we compared a new 2024 Trailblazer to a used 2021 Trailblazer. In fact, this two-row mid-size SUV has always been fairly spacious considering its size. Front row passengers have 40.90 inches of legroom to work with. Second-row passengers have almost as much with 39 inches. The cargo space measures 25.30 cu-ft behind the second seat but if those seats are folded down, it expands to 54.40 cu-ft.
The 2025 Trailblazer rides firm but still comfortable. Both the cloth and available synthetic leather upholstery look nice, and the seats are supportive. The atmosphere can get somewhat noisy when the road noise leaks in at high speeds or when the air conditioning system or heater are turned up at high levels, but, overall, the cabin looks modern enough and is very usable with enough small spaces, cup holders, door pockets, and cubbies to hold small items that passengers may bring along for the ride.
In addition to storing small items, the 2025 Chevy Trailblazer can also charge electronics with an available wireless charging pad on the LT trim. There are also USB-A and USB-C ports for front passengers across the lineup. While Chevy doesn’t provide an integrated navigation system with the 2025 Trailblazer, the SUV does have wireless connectivity for any Android Auto or Apple CarPlay devices, no matter what trim you end up in. A Wi-Fi hotspot is also standard, again, this year.
Screen size measures 11 inches for the main touchscreen and eight inches for the digital instrument display on the dash. Six speakers are standard on most models, but the Trailblazer RS has four speakers, and a seven speaker Bose system is available at the ACTIV trim level. As for other modern technology, the 2025 Trailblazer comes with a push-button start, can be outfitted with remote start on the LS, and standard proximity keyless entry starting with the LT trim.
The 2025 Chevy Trailblazer lineup starts off with the LS trim, which has standard front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist with a lane departure warning, a forward collision alert, an HD rear vision camera, and automatic emergency braking. Other safety features, like a rear cross traffic alert, lane change alert with blind spot detection, and a rear parking assist are all available.
The LT trim doesn’t get a lot of extra features. LED daytime running lamps, remote start, and keyless entry are all included, but, mostly, a lot more features become available at this level. Adaptive cruise control, wireless charging, a cabin humidity sensor, two-way power lumbar support in the driver’s seat, heated front passenger and driver seats, a rearview auto-dimming mirror, and a heated steering wheel are all available here.
The sporty RS gets some extra elements, including a rear center armrest, a wrapped steering wheel, and heated front driver and passenger seats.
Finally, there’s the 2025 Chevy Trailblazer ACTIV, which has many of the same features as the RS plus an eight-way power driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar support, 17-inch sport terrain tires, a chrome-plated front and rear lower fascia, and ACTIV badging.
You’re not getting copious amounts of luxury with the 2025 Chevy Trailblazer. After all, this is not an $80,000 SUV. However, you do get some bang for your buck. With the top-tiered ACTIV available for under $31,000, this isn’t bad in today’s market. Some convenience packages would need to be added in order to fully equip the Trailblazer with all the bells and whistles, so that price could go up a little bit. Still, the 2025 Trailblazer is on par with competitors like the 2025 Hyundai Kona and the 2025 Kia Seltos, two of our favorite subcompact SUVs.

While the Trailblazer isn’t going to win any contests for off-roading, for the most cargo space, or for high-end cabin finishings, it’s versatile enough to get the job done for a single person, a couple, or a small family. With the option to add AWD, the more powerful 1.3-liter engine, and the available amenities, it’s a good little SUV.
Chevrolet gives 2025 Trailblazer buyers a three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.

If you want a sportier ride, go for the RS. If you’ve looking for a handful of off-road features, the ACTIV is a contender. However, if you’re looking for a standard Trailblazer, the LT is a wise choice. A variety of features are available to add at this level, so you can customize it to your liking, at least to a certain point.
